Fire Sprinklers for Single-Family Homes

If you’re building a new single-family home in the greater Seattle area, fire sprinklers are almost certainly required by code. Rain City Fire Protection designs, permits, and installs NFPA 13D-compliant sprinkler systems for new homes of all sizes.

We’ve installed systems in everything from compact urban lots to large custom builds. Every home gets the same level of attention: a system designed specifically for your floor plan, permitted through your local building department, and installed with concealed heads that keep your ceilings clean.

Common Questions

It depends on the layout. NFPA 13D requires coverage in living spaces, closets, and attached garages. Bathrooms under 55 sq ft and small closets may be exempt. We'll show you exactly where every head goes during the design phase.

Yes, attached garages require sprinkler coverage. Detached garages typically do not, unless they connect to the home by a breezeway or covered walkway.

In most cases, no. Seattle and Eastside cities generally have strong municipal water pressure. We test the water supply for your property during the design phase to confirm. If there's ever an issue, we'll discuss options before you commit.
